New Delhi: Popular Front of India has issued legal notice to The Asian Age English Daily for recent publishing ‘defamatory news’ item against the organization. Likewise, three legal notices were issued to Hyderabad, Kochi and Bangalore editions of Deccan Chronicle English Daily for carrying out the same defamatory news item.
In a statement issued by OMA Salam, the General Secretary of PFI has said that the dailies have published reports alleging that Popular Front of India has kidnapped more than 200 children; riot hit victims in Assam and enrolled them in religious institutes in Bangalore in Karnataka and Kerala. By publishing this report the dailies have deliberately tried to tarnish the image of the organization without producing any single piece of evidence, he said.
A press statement from PFI said, “Popular Front of India does not run any religious institution in Bangalore and it has no connection with the said Hanafi Madarasa in Bangalore. It is shocking to read it had kidnapped more than 200 children of Kokrajhar, Assam and brought to Kerala and Karnataka.”
It added, “If the dailies fail to tender unconditional apology, the organization will go to the court against these newspapers.”
