Aligarh: The Executive Council of the Aligarh Muslim University at its special meeting held today authorized the Vice Chancellor to take any action to maintain discipline and law and order in the campus and safeguard the interests of the University.
The members of the Executive Council observed that a motivated mob conducted an illegal agitation for condoning of the attendance condition. The University administration decided to stick to its stand that it would not condone the attendance below the required percentage.
Last few weeks have seen some ‘violent’ protests in the campus, led by students leaders, and allegedly backed by ‘different lobbies.’
