Former AMU students’ leader become member of Academic Board in an Australian university

New Delhi: Aamir Qutub, former Secretary of Aligarh Muslim University Students’ Union, 2011 has been elected unopposed as member of Academic Board of Deakin University, Victoria, Australia.

Deakin University was established in Victoria, Australia and is counted among the famous universities of Australia. Currently, approximately 41,000 students are enrolled in the University.

Aamir Qutub

An academic Board election in Deakin University is similar to Academic Council of AMU whose tenure is for one year. Deakin University’s Academic Board is the principal academic authority within the University. It has responsibility to Council for maintaining the highest standards in teaching and research.

At the end of nomination procedure, Aamir Qutub, who is currently studying MBA (International) from Deakin was elected unopposed as Board Member. Students are very happy and excited after the results and have high hopes that Aamir will bring some remarkable reforms in the interest of the students.

Aamir Qutub did his Bachelors of Engineering from Aligarh Muslim University and was elected as General Secretary of AMU Students’ Union 2011.

After passing out from AMU he worked with Honda Cars India Ltd. and then established his own IT consulting firm. Last year he was offered a scholarship from Deakin University and he left for Australia to study MBA.
