New Delhi: Popular Front of India has condemned, what it calls, the “irresponsible and ridiculous statement of Praveen Togadia” to announce Gujarat as a Hindu Rashtra in 2015. Such statements and intentions by an organization or an Individual is “anti-national and against the Constitution of the country,” a statement by PFI noted.
“The Sangh Parivar has always insulted the Constitution and the secular values on which our country was founded. This recent comment is again a proof of the nefarious plans of the fascist forces to polarize the country on religious lines,” it observed.
It further noted, “The inaction of the UPA government against the culprits of the Babri Masjid demolition and Gujarat riots has only boasted the morale of the communal forces. Such anti-constitutional statements by leaders like Togadia only prove that the inaction of the government has provided immunity to the fascist forces;” and demanded stern actions against him.
‘Ban Praveen Togadia from public addressing and arrest him immediately’
Meanwhile, students’ wing of PFI, Campus Front of India has demanded that Praveen Togadia should be banned from ‘public addressing and arrested immediately.’
