SDPI begins reservation campaign on ‘Social Justice Day’

Kolkata: “Muslims feel insecure and a sense of justice prevails amongst them as one hand present government is ignoring their genuine concerns and on the other hand Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has already started promoting the killers of Muslim as their prime ministerial candidate,” said A. Sayeed, All India President of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) in a celebration program of the birth day of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar as Social Justice Day and one year long Reservation Campaign inauguration in Kolkata on 14 April, 2013 at Muslim Institute Hall.

He criticized the use of communal politics as poll plank, and added that as the general elections near political parties are beginning to use their old methods. Democracy of our country is now facing undemocratic elements, he added.



Several distinguished persons attended the Social Justice Day program at the Muslim Institute Hall, Kolkata on April 14.

Sam Kutty Jacob, Vice-President of SDPI said, for social justice it is important that Muslims, Dalits and other backward communities come together. Baba Saheb Ambedkar has shown us the path, and we should all follow him to get the Constitutional rights, he opine.

All India General Secretary of SDPI, Sharfuddin Ahmed, National Committee Member of SDPI Noushad Punnakkal, Swapan Kumar Biswas President Dalit-Muslim Friendship Association, Tayedul Islam, State President SDPI, SDPI state Vice-President Umar Khan, Writer Abu Rida and many other personalities delivered their speech in favour of reservation and social justice.
