New Delhi: The Outreach Programme, Jamia Millia Islamia is going to organize the 2nd One-Day Young Researchers’ Seminar on “Food for Thought”.
The Seminar will encourage debates which will surround at the burgeoning field of “Food Cultures”. Papers on the various aspects of Food Cultures will be presented by young researchers from Jamia Millia Islamia, University of Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru University among others.
The Conference is spread over in four Sessions on the broad areas: Food Fads: Food and Public Culture down History, Narrating Nourriture: Food in Literature, Visual Victuals: Food in Films, Animation and Comic Strips, Of the Colonial and the Culinary: Food, and the Folk and Registers of Resistance.
The first Young Researchers’ Seminar on “The Cyber-ian Turn in Culture” was held in April last year which had provided an arena for young research scholars from different universities and disciplines to debate about new areas of research in Cybercultures.
The programme is scheduled to be held on April 18, 2013 from 9 AM to 5.30 PM in Tagore Hall, Dayar-I-Mir Taqi Mir, Administrative Block, Jamia Millia Islamia.
