New Delhi: Gandhian social activist Himanshu Kumar, who is sitting on a self-reflection fast at Jantar Mantar from June 1 in solidarity for the issues of tribals, has been denied permission to continue fast for 10 days by the Delhi Police “in view of security/law & order reasons.”
Himanshu Kumar fears he maybe forcefully evicted now from the site of his fast.

A meeting of likeminded civil society members was today held in the evening at the Jantar Mantar. “I am determined to continue this fast at least till 5th, even if Police evicts me from here”, said Himanshu Kumar.
On June 5, at 3 PM a larger meeting is being called to discuss the matter further. Meanwhile, possibility of organizing a week-long yatra (8-14 June) in Delhi on similar issues was also discussed in today’s meeting.
