Aligarh: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Aligarh Muslim University and University of Wisconsin in Madison (USA). The MoU extends the Students Exchange Programme between the two universities for three years.
AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah signed the MoU along with Prof. Paul DeLuca, Jr., Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and Prof. David Joiner, Director for Global Engagement and Leadership, Wisconsin University.

Gen. Shah visited the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA for two days and met the Managing Director of Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, heads and directors of Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, an innovative partnership of academia and industry, Office of Corporate Relations, University Research Park, Dean of College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and Dean of College of Engineering. He is presently on a visit to US to participate in the annual convention of Federation of AMU Alumni Associations, USA.

AMU first signed the MoU with University of Wisconsin in 2008 and eight AMU students of Biochemistry and Biotechnology have so far been provided opportunity to study at the US University under academic exchange programme.
