KVS writes to UP Govt for land in Delhi’s Okhla to open a central school

New Delhi: Kendriya Vidalaya Sangathan(KVS) has written a letter to the Collector and District Magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, Noida, Uttar Pradesh to provide land for to open a central school at the vicinity of Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi.

On 6 May, 2013 a team of senior AMU alumni based in Delhi led by P. Mohammad with Mohammad Aslam and Nehal Ahmed Siddique met with the Commissioner of the Kendriya Vidalaya Sangathan(KVS), Avinash Dikshit for two Central Schools in Okhla region New Delhi in his office Qutub Institutional Area, New Delhi.

KVS wrote a letter dated on 26 June-2013 urging the UP government to submit the proposal for appropriate action.

HRD Secretary, Schools and Literacy has also written a letter to the Commissioner of KVS on 8 April, 2013 after the effective representation and pressure from this AMU Alumni to HRD Secretary about the complete negligence for good quality schools in this Okhla region.

Senior AMU alumni have argued that there are enough fellow lands of the UP Government Irrigation Department in the vicinity of Jamia Millia Islamia, and if approached through proper channel for proper use, they see no reason why UP government should deny an opportunity for the development of the Okhla region, dominated by Muslims from that state and neighbouring Bihar.
