‘Okhla Post’ fortnightly launched

New Delhi: ‘Okhla Post,’ a fortnightly newspaper was launched today on August 15, 2013. Okhla Post is neighborhood news publishing Newspaper that will typically focus on unique and informative news relating Okhla and would be circulated freely in the locality in and around Okhla, New Delhi.

The Newspaper is an initiative by Tanveer Iqbal, a freelance journalist in alliance with Delhi based journalist Asfar Faridy and few students of Jamia Millia Islamia. The Purpose of the newspaper is to connect the community of Okhla, which is a city by itself with 1.5 millions population, Central University, hundreds of schools, educational institutions, and hub of business various places of amusements.



Tanveer Iqbal, Founder of Okhla Post, said, “Okhla Post would be a connecting pinnacle between the people of Okhla and it would be a window of information about Okhla for the rest. We will present the real face of Okhla which is distinctive and spectacular from the day of its existence but is being collapsed and even not propagated”.

“Okhla has many social issues as well from the authorization of colonies, sewer lane to electricity issues which would also be highlighted” Tanveer added.

Asfar Faridy, Associate Editor of Okhla Post, said, “This is newspaper for the people of Okhla, by the people of Okhla and to the people of Okhla which would propagate the happening in Okhla at global level. Even before the launch of the Newspaper it has started making an impact as the page of Okhla Post has got more than 5000 likes now itself”

Okhla Post Newspaper was launched by Ravi Nitesh (Civil Rights Activist), RJ-Reshma Faruqi, Advocate Athar Sayed in presence of Tanveer Iqbal (Founder - Okhla Post), and Asfar Faridy (Associate Editor - Okhla Post).
