Mamata extends support to Jaganmohan Reddy, says against Telengana

Kolkata: “Union Government can not impose liabilities of new separate state in our country. If at all there is need, center needs to take the concerned state’s opinion on the issue. However, on Telnegana, the government ignored the opinion of Seemandhra region,” said West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee after a meeting with Jaganmohan Reddy, leader of YRS Congress Leader of Andhrapradesh and Member of Parliament on 20th November at the temporary CMO office `Nabannya’ (Howrah) in Kolkata.

She criticized the UPA Governmenton its ‘divide and rule’ policy. She said that Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand were created (under NDA regime) public opinions of the concerned states were taken into consideration.

She lauded her government’s effort for solving the issue of Gorkhaland without dividing the state.

After meeting WB CM, YSR Congress leader Jaganmohan Reddy said that they want to prevent the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and has sought help from TMC in this regard.

UPA government will require two-third support in the Parliament to pass the Telangana bill.

Jaganmohan expressed her gratitude to Mamata Baernjee for extending her support for united Andhra Pradesh.

TMC Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brian was also present in the press conference.
