New Delhi: The Outreach Programme, Jamia Millia Islamia & Sarojini Naidu Centre for Women’s Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia and Delhi based organizations have organized an event called “Join and Strengthen – One Billion Rising for Justice to End Violence Against Women (An Evening of Performance, Art, Music & Voices...).
As a precursor to the global One Billion Rising, a movement started by Eve Ensler, American Playwright, Performer, Feminist, Activist & Founder of V Day USA. Eve Ensler will perform “In the Body of Justice” in this event at Jamia Millia Islamia.
The campaign includes the following:
1) Fine Arts Exhibition on the theme
2) Manzil Mystics – Music Band
3) Justin McCarthy – Bharatnatyam
4) Srijanatmak Manushi Sanstha Group
5) Katie Gray – Vocal
6) Urdu Poems, etc.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Jamia Vice Chancellor Prof. S.M. Sajid.
Large number of students, teachers and volunteers of Delhi based organizations that are participating in the event as collaborator.
