New Delhi: Advocate Naushad Ahmad Khan, who hails from Muzafarnagar and is co-petitioner in the Supreme Court that is over-seeing the riot cases, has expressed his dismay over Samajwadi Party Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav’s remark that no more riot victims are in the relief camps, but only the workers of the Congress and BJP for vested interests.

Speaking to TCN, Advocate Naushad Khan alleged, “What Mulayam is saying now is part of the larger design of SP to extract maximum poll benefits from the riots by vilifying the victims themselves.” He added that in its initial affidavits to the Apex Court, UP Government had even refused to acknowledge the number of deaths.

Even now, government is evasive about several missing persons, who family claim were murdered.

He said that Mulayam Singh is not only insulting the victims of the riot, but also those right thinking people who extended their support from across the country and the world to the riot victims. He said that the government has completely failed to provide even basic necessities to the victims living in camps, and is coercing them to return without proper security measures.

He reminded that very few arrests have been made so far, even though several FIRs have been registered in such heinous crimes as rapes, gang rapes, murder, arson, etc.

There are reports of government local administration coercing the victims to withdraw cases.

Advocate Khan has now demanded from the UP Governor to remove the Akhilesh Yadav led government for negligence and implement President’s rule.

Meanwhile, Maulana Arshad Madani of Jamiat e Ulema Hind, came out in support of SP Supremo saying that it’s true that no victims of communal riots are left in camp.
