Dr. Lubna Sarwath bags IKFS’ best economist award

Kuwait: Dr. Lubna Sarwath has won First place in the first IKFS’ Best Economist Award for 2012” competitions conducted by Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society. She holds Ph.D. in Islamic Economics & Finance, from Trisakti University of Indonesia.

The Event was organized in commemoration of the 64th Indian Republic Day and second anniversary celebration of IKFS.

The jury comprised of IKFS’ Economic Panel judges Iftekhar Ahmed (M.Com), Attorney Sayid Mohamed Nizar (B.Sc., LL.B.) and Former Financial Operations Manager of KGIC. Chief Economist and President of IKFS Dr. Ghalib Al-Mashoor declared the winners in the event held on January 29, at Plaza Athenee Hotel.

Dr. Lubna speaks 5 languages (English, Hindi, Telugu, Arabic, Urdu) and holds several academic qualifications such as certificate in political leadership for women ‘India-Women in Leadership(i-WIL)’, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B), Master in Business Administration, Indira Gandhi National Open University, Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers, Indian Institute of Bankers, Mumbai. She is the Director of POINTE (Platform for Occidental, oriental and Islamic Networking in Teaching and studying Economics), Reviewer & Editorial Assistant, Humanomics Journal, Emerald Publications, United Kingdom, Secretary - Shausaa’ Foundation(Regd. Society), Hyderabad (India) and she is the Visiting Lecturer of Trisakti University.

Dr. Sabiha Bilgrami (Kuwait University) won the second place, while Nishrin Merchant bagged the third place.
