Lucknow: The martyrdom of Zia-ul-Haq resulted in the resignation of cabinet minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya. The minister submitted his resignation while Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and another cabinet minister Azam Khan reached Deoria to share their condolences with the family.
Zia-ul-Haq was posted as Circle Officer in Kunda of Pratapgarh district. It is the area of muscleman minister Raja Bhaiyya. On March 2, Zia had gone to village Balipur in Kunda after the murder of village Pradhan Nanhe Yadav. In the aftermath, Suresh Yadav, the brother of village pradhan also died.

The body of Zia too was recovered after several hours from the village. The other police force which included an inspector, several SO and even his gunner Mohd Imran went into hiding while Zia was assaulted and murdered.
Raja Bhaiyya resigned after Zia's widow Parveen Azad took a tough stand and submitted a FIR against him for conspiracy and three of his close aides. Police arrested two Sanjay Singh and Rajeev Singh in the case. CO's widow took a firm stand and insisted that CM Akhilesh Yadav should come to Deoria. CM Akhilesh finally went there along with Azam Khan and gave relief cheques to the bereaved family.

Raja Bhaiyya insisted that he has no hand in the murder of CO Ziaul Haq. He demanded CBI probe in the whole incident. This demand was also raised by CO's widow. Finally Akhilesh Yadav announced that he will recommend for CBI probe.
Ziaul Haq was born on 25 December 1981. He did his high school at village Jaitupura School and intermediate from Khukhundu School. Later he went to Allahabad University and stayed at Muslim Boarding House for nine years. Finally he was selected in Police services in 2008. People also informed that Ziaul Haq had qualified for IAS preliminary examination.
He was just, upright and honest. This was his third posting in his short career.
