Srinagar : An autorickshaw driver injured in Jammu and Kashmir during protests against Afzal Guru's hanging has succumbed to his injuries, police said Tuesday.
Riyaz Ahmad Khanday, 23, was injured by stones in south Kashmir's Anantnag district March 8. He died in Srinagar's Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura Monday night.
Four people have been arrested for the death of Khanday, who reportedly plied his autorickshaw during a shutdown called by Islamists and other groups.
With Khanday's death, the toll in the violence that followed Guru's hanging has risen to five.
Two youths drowned during the protests allegedly after being chased by security forces in Ganderbal district. Two others were killed in firing by security forces.
