New Delhi: The inaugural performance of the play "Trial of Error," based on the ‘wrongful arrests of Muslim youths in the name of terror,’ is slated to unfold on March 29 in the evening at the Sri Ram Centre, Mandi House in the national capital.
“Trial of Error” revolves around a journalist Mohammad Rehan, on the lookout for truth of what is happening with the minority community in the country. His only fault is that he is one of ‘them.’ During the course of his investigation, he falls into a trap by the police and is embroiled in a vicious circle where the system puts him down on every single stride. The play captures his struggle to prove his innocence against the system that ultimately labels him a ‘terrorist.’
The drama is being co-produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Sandiip Kapoor, and directed by Waryam Mast. Rajesh Kumar has scripted the play. Delhi based Imran Zahid plays the lead role.
Bhatt had earlier co-produced a play “The last salute,” with Sandiip Kapoor based on the shoe throwing incident involving former US President George Bush by a journalist Muntadar Al Zaidi, where Zahid had beautifully portrayed the role of the journalist, who was himself sitting in the audience.
