Bhopal: The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) while welcoming Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde’s remarks of "BJP & RSS conducting terror training camps" made at Congress’ Jaipur conclave, has demanded the release of several innocent Muslim youths who have been made scapegoats and jailed for various bomb blasts in the country. They are being tortured to confess crimes on mere suspicion.

SDPI national president E. Abubacker in a statement lamented that despite having firm knowledge of Hindutva terrorism the Congress-led UPA Government is dithering to strike at it. On the contrary due to the fear of alienating Hindu votes it is practicing soft Hindutva and is maintaining a stoic silence while Muslim youths are being targeted and made a scapegoat by the intelligence and the security agencies of the country.

Abubacker said that if the Congress is really serious and means what it says then it should act at the root of Hindutva terror of which it claims to have sufficient information before it is too late. As a first step it should pave the way for the release of innocent Muslim youths who are languishing in various jails across the country for several years, some even without trial, undergoing harrowing time. It is seen that many Muslim youths after years of incarceration have been honourably released when courts found them innocent in the face of cooked up charges by the police, he pointed out.

The statement said that merely talking of such perpetrators of crimes is not enough. Coming from the Union home minister himself, it cannot be overlooked as mere political rhetoric. He will have to come out with the details of what he was talking about and more importantly the details of what the entire Centre has done to nip it in the bud.

Abubacker recalled that despite shrill public denials by the RSS top-brass that its Swayamsevaks or cadres never indulged in terrorist activities, the RSS chief, Mohan Bhagwat, while addressing a meeting of the RSS members on January 10, 2011 at Surat (Gujarat) made a significant statement saying that of the majority of the people whom the government has accused (in various blast cases), a few had left voluntarily and a few were told by the Sangh that this extremism will not work here so you go away. It was a candid admission by the supremo of the RSS who was naturally better informed about the happenings within his organization which works in a clandestine fashion that many of these alleged terrorists were part of the RSS, he opined.
