New Delhi: A symposium or meeting of different Members of Parliament and former ministers held at CONSTITUTION CLUB of India in New Delhi to draw the attention of central Government and all regional and national parties towards the Minority Status of Aligarh Muslim University.
MPs. Mohammad Adeeb and Shafiqur Rahman Barq attended the symposium and expressed their grave concern over the matter of restoration of the minority status to Aligarh Muslim University. Former HRD Minister M. Ashraf Ali Fatimi was also present and said that Minority Status of AMU is the right of Muslims. And condition of Muslims can only be improved by giving the priority in education.
Prof. Bhim Sigh, President , Panther party of India, said that history of Aligarh Muslim University clearly indicates and suggests that it is established by the Muslims so the institution must be awarded with Minority Status ,it is very unjust that Government is reluctant to do justice with the Muslims.
President of Aligarh Muslim University Teachers’ Association was also present along with students and supported the motion strongly.
