New Delhi: To commemorate the 116th Birth Anniversary of Late Dr. Zakir Husain, former President of India and former Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia, the Department of Social work is going to organize an “Inter-Agency Sports and Cultural Meet 2013” on February 17, 2013.
It is a unique initiative and a slightly different way of celebrating the Former Chancellor’s birthday, where the university will provide a platform to those who live on the fringes of society.
The “Inter-Agency Sports and Cultural Meet 2013” is aimed at showcasing the talents of children from marginalized communities where students from Department of Social Work are placed for concurrent field work.
Around 500 children from about 30 organizations are expected to take part in various events on campus.
